It checks all the boxes for me: retro styling, check. Nostalgic references and easter eggs, check. Trope characters that are familiar and classic, check. A super creepy villian, check. Easy controls to pick up, check. Funny dialogue, check. Staying true to the genre while being unique, chickity-check!In fact, the only complaints I had about the game are a funny glitch where Jezz "hides" with his backside sticking out of the bush, and the flashlight mechanic where I didn't understand the consequences fully (at first). This is a great game, and if you like the classic slasher genre, the 80s, 16 bit games, or would like to branch out from Five Nights at Freddy's, you should give this game a go!. Nice little horror game. I like that they didn't force a scary atmosphere with jumpscares all the time, but rather combined a bit of comedy and horror. It is after all a 2D pixel game so you won't get a horror game like Outlast for example, no matter how hard you try. So it was casual, but with some scary elements here and there to stress you up a bit. The Story was interesting too and kept me playing from start to finish on the first playthrough.. short n sweet. I really appreciate the writing in this game. The story is very campy and it knows it so it embraces that in a good way. There is also little Easter eggs referencing nerd culture for you to find which is awesome. Gameplay is super simple but it’s entertaining enough. Definitely worth the price of admission.. Really fun adventure-horror game. The puzzles aren't impossible but just challenging enough to give you pause. I loved the story, the characters, and all the fun horror movie easter eggs hidden throughout the game. Diagoue was good, game play was great. This is the game I wish "Friday the 13th" had been all those years ago on Nintendo.
